2004  HTR-PM standard design was started jointly by INET and CHINERGY.

January 2006  HTR-PM Project was listed in the National Guideline on Medium- and Long-Term Program for Science and Technology Development (2006-2020).

2006  Huaneng Shandong Shidaowan Nuclear Power Co., Ltd, the HTR-PM owner company, was established jointly invested by China Huaneng Group, Nuclear Industry Construction Group and Tsinghua University.

February 2008 ,The overall implementation plan for Key Projects of HTR was approved by the State Council executive meeting.

December 2012 , HTR-PM first concrete dumping

June 2015, Doming of the nuclear island building

March 2016 Installation of the main components started

December 2016, Main control room ready for use

December 2017, Installation of the first reactor module completed

July 2020, the NPP commissioning started

September 2021, the first reactor reached criticality

December 2021，HTR-PM connected to grid for the first time

December 2022, Both modules reached initial full power

December 2023, Commercial operation started
