Presently, the nuclear power project is at an exciting phrase of development in China. Nuclear power is clean and safe. The development of nuclear power will be important for accelerating the economic development of the coastal areas in China, for mitigating environmental pollution and for reducing greenhouse gas emission. Nuclear power represents considerable progress for China. Internationally, Nuclear power technology has achieved advanced levels of technology and management in recent years. However, the construction of new nuclear power stations faces common challenges such as economic competition, safety improvement and reserve fuel treatment both in western developed countries and in developing countries such as China. Therefore, the major nuclear power countries consider advanced nuclear power technology to be a priority.
