Areas of Research Interests/ Research Projects

Prof. Zhang’s research interests are in the areas of structural integrity assessment and structural optimization design of the nuclear safety related equipment and system.

Structural integrity assessment

Mechanical analysis of the nuclear safety related equipment and system, including static, dynamic, fatigue, creep, and fracture computations. The results are evaluated and the structural integrity are assessed.

Structural optimization design

The nuclear safety related equipment and system are arranged and designed based on the layout of the nuclear power plant. The detailed structure are designed and optimized according to the results of the integrity assessment.
