He worked as a research engineer at the Institute of Materials of Nuclear Power Academy of China (Chengdu) from 1989 to 1994. From 1998 to 2002 he worked as a research fellow first at the Department of Materials of Oxford University (UK) and then at the Materials Research Institute of Sheffield Hallam University (UK). From 2003, he moved back to Institute of Nuclear Energy and New Energy Technology of Tsinghua University (Beijing).
Research Fields
Professor Deng’s main research fields are in inorganic materials, i.e., synthesis, processing and characterization of ultrafine ceramic powders, thin films and bulk ceramic materials. Particular interests are in the materials for energy resources applications.
