INET has always stressed the importance of international exchange and cooperation. In the past fifty years, INET has established cooperative ties with over 50 institutes, companies and organizations worldwide. Regular information and personnel exchanges have been maintained with the United States, Germany, France, Japan, the United Kingdom, Russia, the Netherlands and Norway.From 2004 to 2012, about 1500 faculty members and students were invited abroad for academic exchange, over 4000 foreign visitors came to INET for technical visit in different fields. More than 300 renowned scholars from 15 countries have been invited to INET for lectures and/or joint researches. Among them, Professor Guenter Lohnert from Stuttgart University, Germany and a guest chair professor of INET, was conferred the 2005 Beijing Great Wall Friendship Award by the Beijing Municipal Government, and approved by the State Council, the 2009 “Friendship Award” by the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs, for his great contribution and dedication to China’s economic construction and social development, specifically on HTR technology.
In recent years, increasing number of overseas students and scholars are applying to study at INET.
