Division of Fine Ceramics

The division was established in 1987 as Beijing Fine Ceramic Laboratory supported by Beijing Municipal Commission for Science and Technology. In 1994, it became an important branch of the "State Key Laboratory of New Ceramics and Fine Processing" and in 2001 was approved as the Beijing Key Lab of Fine Ceramics.
Main research areas:
  • Ultrafine ceramic powders
  • Ceramic materials for energy resources
  • Structural ceramics
  • Bio- and medical-ceramics
  • Functional ceramics
  • Nondestructive testing of fine ceramics.
  • Main research projects:
  • Manufacture of cost-effective large scale dye sensitized solar cell
  • Preparation of large sized ZrO2 piston for thick oil exploitation
  • Novel approaches for preparation of advanced artificial bone materials are the major materials that are undertaken by this division.
