  • The development of new type digital reactor protection system, and the V&V technology of safety software
  • The full digital I&C system design and its engineering implementation in practice for new type research reactor
  • The modeling and simulation of new type research reactor, and its control system hardware in loop experimentation
  • The research of full digital I&C system design on the low temperature heating reactor station and nuclear seawater desalination plant
  • The key technology studies of high temperature helium gas turbine for High Temperature Gas-Cooled Reactor
  • The digital I&C system design for Modular High Temperature Gas-Cooled Reactor Demonstration Power Plant (HTR-PM)
  • Graduates:
    Up to the present, 10 doctors and 30 masters have graduated from I&C division and 4 post doctors have worked here. At present there are one doctor candidate student and 6 graduate students in I&C division.
    The research characteristic of I&C division are the integration of software and hardware, theory (control theory and signal processing theory) and practice (control system and control objects). The graduates¡¯ research projects are widely, e.g. the study of the measurement, control and protection equipments based on the CPLD & FPGA; the study on digital monitor and control system based on the distributed network; the study on the control technology and modeling, simulation, dynamic characteristic of nuclear power plants; the study of signal processing technology (state recognition and diagnosis); the study on advanced reactor electric power system and electric control technology, etc.

    Achievements:
    In the research field of digital I&C system of nuclear power plants, the I&C division is keeping ahead around the whole country. The main achievements include:
  • In 1980s, firstly implemented operating status supervised mainly by computers in the 5MW Low Temperature Heating Reactor project in China
  • In 1990s, developed the first digital protection system in China, and successfully applied on the 10 MW High Temperature Gas-cooled Reactor (HTR-10). At present, the new type digital protection system has already completed, and will be used in a new type research reactor project
  • Successfully developed the first full digital I&C system of HTR-10 in China
  • Completed the study on the modeling, simulation and dynamic characteristic of the Low Temperature Heating Reactor and the High Temperature Gas-cooled Reactor
  • The I&C division has won 5 times the second-class awards of Ministerial Science and Technology Advanced Award of China
