Division of Thermal Hydraulics

The division focuses itself on R&D of the nuclear heating reactor (NHR) and the high temperature gas cooled reactor (HTGR). Its main R&D fields are as follows: reactor thermal-hydraulics, two-phase flow and flow instability in natural circulation; reactor key facilities such as hydraulic driving control rods for NHR; fuel pebble handling system, steam generator, helium seal and purification technology for HTGR, hydrogen production by steam reforming with HTGR; nuclear seawater desalination, flow noise analysis and its application in measurement, advanced thermal measurement and control technology, etc.
